www.mississippimills.ca is the official website for providing information regarding the 2022 Municipal/School Board Trustee Elections for the Municipality of Mississippi Mills. I will provide a few general question and answers on this site, you can email elections@mississippimills.ca for any questions regarding the municipal elections, check the municipal web site or contact me directly pertaining to my campaign.
  1. When is the election? Election day is Monday October 24th 2022, the Municipality of Mississippi Mills electors will be voting online and by phone from October 17 – 24.
  2. Who can Vote? You can vote in the municipal elections if:  you or your spouse are a resident, owner or tenant of property in Mississippi Mills; you are a Canadian citizen; and you are at least 18 years old. A Voter Information card will be mailed directly to electors at the end of September/early October 2022, providing a voter with a personalized PIN which will allow electors to vote 24 hours a day for 8 days, from any telephone or any device connected to the internet. Post-Secondary Students: there is a special rule for students who may be living away from home while they attend school. If you are a student and consider your “home” to be the place where you live when you are not attending school, which means you plan on returning there, then you are eligible to vote in both your ‘home’ municipality and in the municipality where you currently live while attending school.
  3. Who votes for Candidates in the Almonte Ward? I am seeking Re-Election in the Almonte Ward, there are four candidates seeking two seats in the Almonte Ward and only residents of Almonte may vote for candidates in the Almonte Ward.
  4. How to Vote? Voting is easy & convenient with online or telephone voting, Your Voter Information card to arrive in the mail (late September or early October). Keep the Voter Information card in a safe place until voting opens on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 10:00am. You will have 7 days to vote, but do not wait until the last minute in case you have difficulty logging into the voting system You have 2 ways to vote: Vote by phone (takes about 10-15 minutes) Vote online (takes about 5 minutes) *EASIEST METHOD* If you do not have access to a touchtone telephone, or internet at your home, visit the Municipal Office or one of the Voter Help Centres during their specified hours, and use their voting kiosks.
